O day of infamy
Ever etched in memory
What began an ordinary day
Sailors toiling along the quay
In the airfields men follow their routine
Every army man and marine
People rousing that morn
Knew not the tragedy upon the wind borne
Radar specks misidentified
Til too late, then all were struck terrified
All the ships along the Row
Sent to the shallows or the depths below
All save two would rise again to fight
And return to set the enemy to flight
Yet on this day, upon this day we recall the fallen
All who died that infamous day, soldier and civilian
Somberly, we salute the civilians and their family
Gratefully, we salute those who died for their country
